“I’ve just received from Yakshi the lovely Jaeger pullover, given to me by my wife. The moth damage, the worn out elbow and the frayed hem have all been beautifully repaired, with elbow patches added and the frayed hem secured. I couldn’t imagine this work being done better and I am very grateful to Yakshi.”

Mark J.

"Your work is a superb addition and fits harmoniously colourwise as if it was originally intended to be there. When buttoned up the cardigan is wearable with ease and shows no stretch effect at the buttons. In structure the additions just look like part of the garment. You have indeed performed your magic on this and have transformed it from wearable in a limited way to being a full-use cardigan. One should not wish time away but I have to confess that I am looking forward to December! I much appreciated your attentiveness and making of colour samples. Service like that is rare. You showed exceptional dedication to the task and expert skill in completing it"

  • "I’m so glad I found Yakshi. She repaired a very expensive Moncler hat of mine which was a cable knit which my dog had damaged - I thought it was beyond repair as I’d taken it to a few local repair places and was told there was nothing that could be done…due to the fact that it was a cable knit and there were several loose threads. I found Yakshi online and sent her photos of my hat and she said it could be repaired. The work Yakshi did was beyond my expectations - it’s perfect, the match to the ecru yarn of my hat is perfect and the seam she re built has made the hat look like it originally did. The damage has been made invisible by Yakshi’s work - I am thrilled! A true example of impeccable workmanship, a quality repair to restore much loved and often expensive items. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again and recommend. Also it was incredibly quick turnaround which was an added bonus"

    Lyndsey P.

  • “It is difficult to choose someone from the internet to do a job. With Yakshi I struck gold. If you have a much love jumper no longer wearable Yakshi is your saviour. I could not recommend more highly."

    Jeni L.

  • "Yakshi shortened a jumper for me, and managed to knit a new hem in the original wool. Absolutely perfect job. Thank you!"

    Aurea C.

“A much treasured 20yr old fisherman rib jumper from the outer Hebrides was in need of some serious TLC, holes, pulls, joints around necks coming apart etc – I really didn’t want to lose it and after some googling, I found Yakshi online. All the online feedback was excellent and I can only report same. Great comms, honest quotation and clear feedback throughout and all delivered and retuned safely. I now have a jumper expertly repaired and ready for another 20years of use – I can only say a big thanks and recommend without hesitation“

Tom P.

“The repairs were MASTERFUL. A very sincere thank you. I love giving new life to these, what at times seem lost causes.Yakshi has very unique skills. How lucky I was to find her.
THANK YOU“

“We are very happy with it and it looks ready for another ten years wear, the patches look very well. Thanks for your prompt service”

Angela B.

  • "Yakshi is, quite simply, the best in the business. She can perform wonders on knitwear and she makes the impossible, possible. I sent her a precious and loved fair isle jumper which was quite a complicated project because of the complexity of the pattern and unusual blend of wools, but she was not daunted and willingly accepted the instruction. She somehow understood exactly what I was looking to be done and went out of her way to ensure that I understood all the steps to be taken to deliver what I wanted. She kept me regularly updated on progress and is highly responsive. When I was reunited with it, it was a perfect fit! She brought my old fair isle friend back to life. She is, at once, both a superstar and a miracle worker, and all at a very reasonable price at that. 10/10."

    Gary U.

  • "Yakshi always amazes with her ability to make a damaged area on a knitted garment just vanish."

    Tim S.

I would have to say that I think you are an absolute magician - I had no idea that it was possible to mend such complex knitting so very nearly invisibly - I'm absolutely delighted with the amazing work you've done to save this very special jumper for me.

Yakshi provided an excellent service with my cashmere jumper. Quick and looks like new.

Dinara N.

  • "Very impressed with the way my wife's irreplaceable Tulchan cardigan was repaired with matching new arms, and with the trouble taken to get things right when there was a problem (not Yakshi's fault) with the length of the arms."

    John P.

  • "My knitted Vivenne Westwood dress had come loose and started to ladder, I was gutted as I couldn't find anyone who repairs knitted garments. Yakshi responded to my query immediately and repaired it, it looks brand new! Since then I've referred some boutiques as Yakshi's ork is outstanding! Thank you for repairing my new dress, thought I'd lost an expensive dress.

    Teresa M.

  • ""Yakshi did a lovely invisible repair of a complex aran cable knit jumper. I am very grateful.

    Vincent S.

  • "I was a little unsure contacting Yakshi as I have never before contacted a person on the internet that I didn’t already know. I’m very impressed with correspondence and workmanship from Yakshi. The repairs to my daughters jumper are excellent - you cannot see the repairs and my daughter will get so much more wear out of her favourite jumper; it looks and feels brand new. Highly Recommended."

  • "Yakshi altered the length of my knitted dress perfectly. If I ever need knitwear altered again, I will send it to her - she knows exactly what to do and produces stellar work."

  • "The repair of my jumper by darning was excellent, meaning the jumper was saved for more years' use. The charge was most reasonable."

Had a great experience with Yakshi who mended two jumpers for me beautifully. Look forward to wearing them for many more years to come. Thank you, Yakshi!

Yakshi has done a wonderful job and has transformed an expensive unwearable garment into one of my favourite pieces. Beauriful craftsmanship and swift and courteous communication throughout. I'm about to send her another piece.

Ann H.

Yakshi is a miracle worker - she did such a fabulous job reinforcing a jumper that was wearing a bit thin. I would never hesitate to send my knitwear to Yakshi in the future (in fact, I hope for it!)

Nina L.

Very pleased with the service. I'd searched for many years for a competent knitter to fix a 40 year old cable knit jumper. The repair isn't visible.

Paul S.

  • "I have 2 jumpers that I had neglected to take good care of as a teen, and which ended up badly damaged. I showed them to Yakshi, who made no secret that repairing them would be a serious challenge. But it was one she was up to, and she completely transformed them both! It feels so amazing to be able to wear these clothes I always loved so much. Thanks so much Yakshi for working a miracle on this one."

“Yakshi repaired a fairly badly damaged cardigan that was quite a complex chunky knit with two colours. Not only did she match the wool colours perfectly, but now, even I can't see exactly where the damaged sections were. The cardigan is like new. She even fixed an additional hole I hadn't noticed, at no extra charge. Amazing skills and service.”

Matthew P.

“Yakshi mended four small holes in a woollen dress. The work was excellent and you can’t see where the holes were”

Angela G.

“Yakshi worked on a sweater for myself and another for my husband. (Removal of a funnel neck and a crew neck, and repairing a hole.)
Yakshi made sure to keep us updated on what she was able to do, in terms of options for the alterations and the repair and completed both sweaters within a week. The results were incredible….a beautiful finish on both.
We are really happy with the end results and looking forward to wearing sweaters we had previously found too uncomfortable to wear.”.

Caroline M.

“A brilliant experience from beginning to end. Responsive in communication. Spot on in terms of recommendations and thinking through the repair. Excellent in the standard of the work done (I had a precious old cardigan mended). And speedy in terms of turnaround time. Can't recommend Yakshi highly enough”

Ben M.

  • “As a recent customer of Yakshi's, I would like to comment on the superb work and quality assurance employed by her related to the repair of a woollen item from my ceremonial uniform. The workmanship was excellent, and the repair was done so well, that the darning was hardly visible. It has extended the life cycle of my items and was well worth the very reasonable charge for her expertise and effort. I will recommend Yakshi's service to others within my unit.”

    Major Tony Ronaldson

  • “My very nice Dale of Norway pullover was badly damaged by clothes moths, with 4 conspicuous holes on the front as well as another on a sleeve. I wondered whether it was repairable but Yakshi matched the wool precisely and did virtually an invisible repair. She did this promptly and communicated very well. I also have a Jaeger pullover, similarly damaged, which, with confidence, I will also send up to Yakshi!.”

    Mark J.

"I am absolutely thrilled with what Yakshi has done. She has transformed a boring but lovely sweater into one that's beyond beautiful. It's going to be a modern heirloom, and I know I'll wear it forever. She is a genius. I'll doubtless be in touch again with something else, but in the meantime thank you again."

"Yakshi made a fantastic job repairing my Stone island cardigan which had pretty much written off wearing again. Amazing work.."

David G.

"I can't tell you how happy I was with the work Yakshi did to repair and make usable a Norwegian sweater which is definitely over 80 years old and maybe even older. Some of the repairs are invisible and the ones which we discussed had to re-knitted from a new yarn, match the old colours so well you would think they were part of the original design. I am absolutely delighted, this is an artist at work and it was worth every penny. I can't recommend Yakshi highly enough.."

Jonathan B.

  • “Yakshi repaired two woollen jumpers that had several holes, frayed collars and hems. The jumpers were very old and had sentimental value. Yakshi repaired them beautifully and they can now be enjoyed and cherished once again. Thank you Yakshi”

"Fast, attentive, personal service. Excellent attention to detail. Outstanding results. Better than I had even hoped. Would thoroughly recommend."

“I discovered Yakshi when researching some where to repair damage caused by moths on my sweater. I was truly delighted with the result. It was a very discreet /neat repair and at a reasonable price.Very clever work which I highly recommend”

Judith P.

Thank you so much for your hard work - I am very pleased with the result.

Yvonne S.

“I needed the bottom and sleeves  of a new Icelandic cardigan shortened. Yakshi’s work was absolutely first class and the end result was indistinguishable from (and in places better than) the original. I was particularly impressed with the amount of thought and reflection that Yakshi put into the whole process (communicating with me throughout) to ensure the best result possible.

This is not a cheap option but you genuinely get what you pay for and an honest quote is given beforehand (and stuck to). If you want perfect results this is the place to go. I would definitely recommend”.

Andree

  • "I'd more or less given up on retrieving a much loved Aran Island cardigan which I had failed to realise was getting worn through at the elbows. By the time I spotted it the hole was several centimetres in diameter. I was eventually pointed to Yakshi's site and got a very prompt response to my query. To cut a long story short I just got the cardigan back darned, and with leather patches to prevent repetition and two other pullovers given arm patches as well. The quality of the work is excellent, but it was also the attention to detail and intelligent questions (with suggestions) as how to best effect the repair. I have no hesitation in recommending Yakshi's work - a brilliant example of a craft industry"

  • "I'm so glad I found Yakshi! I'd tried some other people who claimed to be "experts" but sadly they couldn't help. The item in question is a Christmas stocking that sadly received some rather too enthusiastic stuffing last year which broke some of the stitching inside leading to the pattern on the outside falling apart. I turned the thing inside out to see if I could work out what to do, but sadly it looked like a packet of spaghetti in there. I sent it to Yakshi with no real expectation as I knew it wouldn't be easy, but to my delight she agreed to take it on. The process was very simple, I sent it, she fixed it and sent it back. Boom. One fixed stocking :) Many thanks indeed"

    James A.

“My jumper arrived and it looks amazing! Yakshi has managed to completely restore a ten-year-old jumper that was on its last legs but now looks and feels fit to last at least another decade! The way she has re-knitted so much of the frayed original yarn is very clever and means the newly repaired sections are almost completely invisible, and feel just as soft as the original. I really couldn't be happier with the work, and will definitely be in touch again the next time moths attack my cupboard or I get a sleeve caught on a door or a much-loved old sweater simply begins to fall apart!”

Nathaniel Morris

I have a much-loved Norwegian jumper that had gaping holes in each elbow. I searched online and discovered that Yakshi has glowing reviews from others in a similar predicament. She responded very quickly to my initial inquiry and I was wearing the jumper, beautifully repaired, within 2 weeks of making contact. Thank you, Yakshi!

Angus L.

“Yakshi did a wonderful job repairing my prized and delicate jumper that I had been on the verge of abandoning. It now looks and feels brand new. The repairs are invisible, she has really great craftsmanship. And it was also easy and quick to send and get back the repair. I’d recommend her very, very highly to anyone who wants to extend the life of their woollens “

Redmond

“Yakshi repaired two items for me and has done a fantastic job. She repaired the seam on a Amundsen 100% merino wool jumper as well as a hole on a Dale of Norway wool jumper. They are both as good as new and I’ll certainly be using Yakshi in the future“

Pete Thomas

  • "A very easy and efficient service! Yakshi worked her magic on my husband’s beloved, but hole-filled Geiger jacket. We are very pleased with the results and the jacket will go on for at least another 20 years. And now I know where to go to get all my knitwear repaired. Thank you Yakshi.”

    Teresa Graham

“Yakshi fixed my hand-knitted Icelandic sweater perfectly - she's added to its rugged personality and I'm looking forward to the next patch”

Matthew B.

“Absolutely FAB!” “Work carried out as offered, highest quality and my 30 year old guernsey looks smarter than when it was new. Delighted”

Gareth A.

“Thank you for the sweater. I have it on me right now and I am extremely happy. Great great job”

Barbara

Thank you so much for the blanket. I can now use it again and the darning is almost invisible. Only on closest inspection can one notice it. So thank you again. I am very, very grateful"

Usha G.

"It looks fantastic, I can't notice the mend at all. Yakshi has done a great job!"

Robin T.

  • “I'm absolutely delighted with the amazing job that Yakshi did in shortening the sleeves of my lace knit cardigan and creating new cuffs from some closely matching yarn. It looks perfect - the alteration is completely imperceptible - and I'll get so much more wear out of it now that it fits properly. Thank you, Yakshi!”

    Patricia Smyth

“My husband had a beautiful hand knitted Norwegian jumper with a very complicated pattern (the Norwegian Winer Olympic pattern for Lillehammer) but it had a number of holes, probably due to moths and threads catching. I searched online and chose Yakshi because she seemed to be a knitwear and yarn specialist ,and had good reviews for work on similar style garments. She came back to me very promptly with a price and when she received the garment she advised that more extensive work needed done. We went ahead with it and the jumper is as good as new. I am really pleased to have it looking so good and will try and protect it better in future. Beautiful work, and impeccable service.”

Alison Townsley

‘I contacted Yakshi to repair a massive hole in my partner’s favourite knit cardigan. She was incredibly responsive and turned the repair around in record time. It was absolutely seamless - he couldn’t even remember what sleeve was unravelling in the first place!’

Sam

“Yakshi has recently knitted a new neckline for a much loved Shetlands jumper, that had unravelled on the shoulder. It also had a huge hole on the elbow and, as it turned out, more moth holes than either she or I first realised. The standard of her workmanship is amazing, so precise and well done. And how lovely to be able to save well loved pieces in this way.”

Astrid S

“I just want to say thank you for the superb job you’ve done on the sweaters. I’ve had fun trying to spot the repairs. I’ve just given them a well-needed wash before returning them to my son. He’ll be really pleased and surprised. I also appreciated the speed with which you’ve mended them - thanks again!”

Bridget

"I was delighted with Yakshi's (beautiful) repair of a 20 year old much loved Irish jumper and her efficient and prompt online responses and service. Thank you very much."

Moira S

“Yakshi, you are a true magician transforming the tattered cuffs on my beloved varsity jacket back to the original stylishness“

Bruce Lynn

“I had a very expensive Paul & Shark jumper that caught the zip badly when washing. 7 parts needed repairing and one of the rips was pretty big. Although not an invisible mend, I don’t think anyone could have done the repairs any better and my jumper has a new lease of life.”

Steve O'Loughlin

“ My much loved 30+ year old Guernsey jumper now has a new lease of life. It had a hard life before from being worked around the garden, doing work in various bits of the countryside and travelling overseas with me for my down time. It had got very worn, torn and frayed at the collar, cuffs and seams. Yakshi has replaced the collar, new cuffs and fixed the tears, all re-knitted or replaced in a shade almost exactly the same as the original. Quickly done and back with me within a week. Very pleased with the work and so nice the have it back and not having to worry about it decaying and fraying any more. “

Julian S

“ My favourite Fairisle jumper was well-munched by moths. Yakshi agreed to fix it and found several additional holes I had not noticed. Jumper was returned quickly, and expertly repaired. The whole process only took a week including post both ways. A really good impressive service.”
